Threatening Employee Termination

Security officer escorting a terminated employee from an office lobby

Professional on-site protection when a firing, layoff, or walkout may turn hostile.

Terminating someone is an HR decision. Keeping everyone safe while it happens is a security decision.

Risk goes up when the person has made threats, has access to weapons or critical systems, is being removed for violence or theft, or when a layoff or strike already has the workplace on edge.

We support employers, HR, and legal counsel during:

  • Involuntary terminations (fired, for cause, or long-term removal)
  • Layoffs and reduction-in-force days
  • Resignations or walkouts after a confrontation
  • High-profile or executive exits
  • Union, picket, or labor-dispute settings around a termination

What we do on-site:

  • Advance walkthrough with HR and facilities (exits, parking, badge shutdown, what “done” looks like)
  • Low-profile presence in or just outside the meeting room
  • Escort from the meeting to the desk, locker, vehicle, or property line
  • Collection of keys, badges, devices, and access items per your checklist
  • Crowd and hallway control so other staff are not pulled into the scene
  • Parking-lot and lobby overwatch after the person leaves
  • Coordination with your team if police should be called
  • After-action notes for your file (what happened, times, who was present)

hostile employee termination

Armed or unarmed, uniformed or plainclothes — we match the tone of your workplace. For most office terminations, plainclothes is the right call.

How it works

  1. Call or submit the form — You do not need to put the employee’s name in writing on first contact. Tell us date, location, headcount in the meeting, and why you think it may go badly.
  2. Short plan — We confirm how many officers, armed vs unarmed, where they stand, and the exit path.
  3. Day of — Officers arrive early, meet your lead, and stay until the person is off property and the floor is calm.
  4. Follow-up — Optional extra coverage that afternoon or the next morning if you expect them to return.

Available 24/7. Call 954-559-0486 or request a confidential assessment. What you tell us stays with the team working the job.
